After the What If… Killmonger Rescued Tony Stark? Marvel fans are quiet curious about Tony Stark voice actor.
As the last couple of episode of What If? have included substitute takes on Marvel Cinematic Universe history that influenced the whole direction of the Avengers. In What If? episode 6, we analyze “Consider the possibility that… “What If… Killmonger Rescued Tony Stark”, a story premise that Tony Stark is at the center of attention. Notwithstanding. It also been clear that Robert Downy Jr. wouldn’t join other MCU stars in accomplishing voice work for What If?, so a substitution was required.
Actor Mick Wingert voices Tony Stark in the What If? episode “What If… Zombies?!” and “What If… Killmonger Rescued Tony Stark?”.
Wingert has a long history of doing voicework in comic culture animated shows and games, including Doc McStuffins, Elena of Avalor, Mass Effect 2, Disney’s Princess and the Frog, the Kung Fu Panda franchise, DC’s Batman: Year One, Netflix’s Voltron reboot and anime series like Attack on Titan, Baki and Boruto: Naruto Next Generations. That is also his work for Marvel, which incorporates Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, Guardians of the Galaxy animation, Avengers Assemble, and Spider-Man (2017). So the experience and nerd comic are both surely there.
That being said, Marvel Studios has given Mick Wingert something of an unpleasant errand. Robert Downey Jr’s. Tony Stark/Iron Man is THE characterizing voice of the MCU, and one of the most reprimanded and parts of What If? has been the purported sound-alikes that Marvel Studios recruited. This Killmonger and Tony Stark episode has essentially been the most ridiculously outrageous as far as attempting to ‘fake it til you make it’ with substitution voices for characters like Tony and Pepper Potts, and not all fans are feeling good about it.

Eventually, the main Iron Man film was released almost fifteen years ago, so Marvel fans shouldn’t be surprise that stars like Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, and Jeff Bridges didn’t return. They really have moved on…
